Post Aruba N.V. and its alliance with DIMAS
In March of this year Post Aruba took over the procedure of handing over the response letters from DIMAS regarding permit applications.
The procedure entails that after applicants submit their application forms at DIMAS and the evaluation period has passed, Post Aruba receives the response letters from DIMAS.
Upon receipt of these letters notifications are sent to the home address of the applicants to inform them that their response has arrived at the postal office located at Oranjestad and are available for pick up at window 13.
Since it concerns a personal document, only the person mentioned on the notification is authorized to receive the letter upon presenting a valid Aruban ID or passport. If the addressee does not pick up the letter within three weeks after the notification was sent, Post Aruba sends a first reminder and after six weeks a second reminder. If after seven weeks upon the first notification the applicant has not picked up the response letter it will be sent back to DIMAS.
Post Aruba delivers the notifications to the addresses received from DIMAS. If there is a change of address the applicant has to pass by DIMAS to make said change. For security reasons Post Aruba will not deliver a notification at any other address.
Post Aruba N.V. pays special attention to this service so that the procedure can run smoothly.
